When I do buy product X, I make damn sure I did not buy it from companies A B C D or E because I do not want to reward them for unsolicited advertising

That you may be ending up in spamming. Instead list your site on relevant forums/free classifieds/craiglist. Other way is SEO to your site.

If nothing helps outsource of bringing traffic (web promotion) to a programmer on freelance sites. It will be cost effective also.
