When two research resources disagree with each other how do you decide which one to use?
Do you pick the one you like the most, or do you have a system to help you decide which is the better resource?
Please share with me your system.

First, I do more research. If I find a third and fourth source and they agree with one of the first two, I probably have my answer.
Then, I do even more research, but this time, into the sources. Does source A have a record of plagerism? Does B have only one book and no others? Those would be reasons not to put as much faith in it.
Does source A have numerous well-reviewed books on a variety of topics? Is B considered an expert in the field? Is either of them frequently mentioned in secondary sources? Those are reasons to be more inclined to believe them.
But what if they seem equal? Well, then I usually say "Some scholars believe (what A said), while others disagree and say (what B said). I suspect the answer is closer to (whatever I think is a reasonable explanation) because (my reason for thinking that)."

Always pick the latest source unless the person asking for the information has a preference.

When you say ""like"" the most,or the one that makes the most sense,do you mean taking an objective overview that depends on rational thinking. We make choices every day that are subjective to our view, but in research, you still make choices, but they must be totally objective.

You need to look at the fundamental differences in the two. Is it political? Financial? Are you limited to using just one?
In what context will they and you be best suited. You need to look at which choice is going to get you the better results.
Can you check the references?
