Best thing to purchase NY Pass. It's more better than City Pass.

New York Pass allowed you to be first in line.

There are 5th Av/Museum Miles from East 105th St to East 72nd St which is

    1. EL Barrio Museo (Museum in Spanish Harlem at 5th Av/104th St and NYC Museum at East 103rd St next door.

NYC Museum has history of Old Toys, well as dollhouse.

It also contains history about Broadway Musical, well as Great Fire of Wall Street.

    2. Central Park is also good place.

    3. Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

Since this has circular designed by Frank Lloyd Write, best way to begin from top level and go down the ramp as you look at paitings/sculputres.

    4. Metropolitan Museum of Art at 5th Av/82nd St is also wonderful with many world history, medieval, Japanese, even mummy that you could see their feet! Also same day admission to Cloisters in Fort Tryon Park, if you're more interested in MEDIEVAL. It has many paitings and sculptures! Also you could join tour in English or foreign tours or listen with Audio Guide Player.

    5. Frick Collection at 70th St/5th Av cost $15 per person and AUDIO GUIDE IS FREE.

    6. American Museum of Natural History at Central Park West/81st St is home of prehistorical dinosaur, animals, marine, jungle, planet. Also on 2nd floor, you should check out free BIG BANG SHOW in Rosa Space Center for 15 minutes.

    7. You may also visit Museum of Televion & Radio located on 52nd St between 5th & 6th Avenues.

    8. There are also street fairs/festival that closed traffic road, so people could enjoy shopping, eating various food they sell at fair/festival.

    9. Broadway Musical in Times Sq, well as Appollo Theater on 125th St/7th Av (Adam Clayton Powell Jr) is also very famous.

    10. You should take ride on free Staten Island Ferry roundtrip to see view of Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Governors Island without stopping at island and avoid long line of CircleLine.

    11. You may also want to go shopping along 5th Avenue, Times Warner Building at Columbus Circle, well as Manhattan Mall, Marcy's, Old Navy's at 34th St-Herald Sq (Broadway/6th Av).

    12. Also see the Ground Zero and Winter Garden in Lower Manhattan.

    13. You could ask tourist booth in front of World Trade Center PATH Station and ask for Patriot Trail brochure which takes you self-walking tour in Financial District.

    14. CircleLine, New York Waterway and New York Water Taxi has very excellent sightseeing cruise.

New York Waterway offers ferry shuttle bus which you flag like hailing a taxi and hop aboard to get to your sightseeing tour at Pier 79.

CircleLine has best 3 hours cruise that goes counter clockwise around Manhattan, passing by Chelsea Pier, Greenwich Village, Liberty-Ellis-Staten Islands into NY Harbor, where you could see Verrazaro Narrows Bridge far away, and where cruise turn north on East River, passing some brooklyn waterfront with Governors Island, passing Roosevelt Island, Randall's/Ward's Islands, then under bridges on Harlem River, then at Spuyten Duyvill creek, it will return south on Hudson River, passing near Cloisters, George Washington Bridge, Hudson River and back to Midtown.

    Enjoy the Big Apple!

Both Metropolitan-Cloisters Museums and American Museum of Art is pay what you wish.

CirceLine has two cruises. 3-hour cruise departs from 42nd St while Downtown Cruise are different.

I would say the Empire State Building and then take to boat out to the Statue of Liberty and climb up to the top. The last time I was there the arm was closed, This was 65 or so years ago. Yes, I am that old. I used to live across the river in NJ. so went to NY many times. There are so many things that can be done in the "city that never sleeps" that are free and people don't think of them, like Central Park just to look at other people. You might try crossing half way over the Washington Bridge by foot. I did it when the night the bridge first opened with my parents, I was born in 1925. There is a sign in the middle that says "NEW YORK | NEW JERSEY"

But then again it depends on the time of the year. Times Square is nice to see at night.

hi I went last year and plan to go again soon too. On your 1st trip, I think you should go to the top of the Empire State Bldg. But be advised, the lines are HUGE so get there early and when you have a couple of hrs to spare. Also, don't forget to get on the staten island ferry if you want to see the statue of liberty & not necessarily have the time to do the whole statue tour - you'll see it from the water and its free! O, be aware of those central park buggy rides, they don't take you all around the park - just a very small section of it. You can definitely skip this part and just stroll through the park yourself for free. Wear comfortable shoes! You'll do a lot of walking. Have fun!

NYC is Great! I suggest you to go to the Rockefeller Center. It is really cool and fun to be in there, you would enjoy the shops, ice skating rink, museums, and the city itself. I also would suggest you to visit Time Square, and Broadway Theater. There are awesome areas and places in New York City. You will love it! Enjoy!
