How to stop popups? I have turned on the popup blocker to no avail, also set the security to med. high. , Any?

I would also get the McAfee Site Advisor,because it warns users when downloading software or filling out forms on a web site that may make them victims of malware or spam.

It sounds to me like you have some spyware on your machine. I would scan it with the following programs: spybot search & destroy, Microsoft's anti-spyware, and Ad-Aware. If this does not take care of the issue, I would call a friend that is a computer geek. They may be able to help you back up your information on the computer and do a system restore, or restore the computer to factory defaults by using the system disks that came with your computer. Spyware is pretty nasty these days and is very hard, if not impossible to get rid of without reinstalling Windows.

1) The popups come even when you are not using IE?

If this is the case, you probably have a nasty case of adware/spyware/malware, you will need to check your computer with a good antivirus (Kaspersky is my recommendation)

2) If they come only while you are surfing, using IE, please consider using an alternative browser: Mozilla Firefox or Opera are your best options.

Have you downloaded a Google toolbar? (search for it in Google or Yahoo). They're pretty effective for stopping popups..

You need to be carefull in what programs you use. If the pop- ups are saying your are infected and buy some program do not do it. It's a scam. I recomend downloading RogueRemover.

try installing windows defender fro microsoft its free. usually when pop up keep comming up even though pop up blocker is on security even to high, and deny cookies, means that you are infected.

First delete all of your temporary internet files.

Then get "Windows Defender" and Adaware, they are both free.

thats a virus my friend. please put some anti-virus to reduce pop-ups. i tried that before. lots and lots of it. non stop.
