Friends w/ benefits where neither is attached to the other?
Is this even possible? Having experienced this myself, I don't believe that there is something like friends with benefits where neither of the two involved isn't somehow attached to the other.
Usually one of the two is in it for the benefits and the other one is actually in love but tolerates it because there's no other way of being that close to the other person. Any different experiences?

My "Friend With Benefits" and I are getting along very well. Our secrets are that we were already friends first for a couple of years, and as soon as sex came up, we talked very openly and honestly about what it meant to us. In our circumstances, we were both looking for something "casual" at the time, so it just worked out.
Neither one of us is in it "just for the benefits." We respect and care about each other very much. But this is different from a "committed" relationship in many ways. We kind of see this as something "for now" and not "forever." We both know that we're dating others (albeit not very seriously). We just don't see any reason to be jealous. But ironically, this kind of low-pressure relationship is very comfortable for me, so I intend to stick with it for a while.

Nope. From what I've experienced and heard, yes it is always the way you describe. I don't think it's possible to be friends with benefits without any attraction.
