I've taken both and neither helps as much as a comprehensive overall plan that includes a healthy diet with plenty of daily exercise. FYI, there's lots better supplements out there than those two. Fenugreek, and gymnema sylvestre come to mind. Potassium from fruits is far more effective than vanadium (highly toxic) and chromium (an essential nutrient, but not very effective).

Any herbs that would be a problem for diabetics would typically have a warning on the label (which is rather few). The main nutrients that you should be careful of when you are diabetic would be any product that helps with blood sugar. Yes, it's a bit ironic, but too much support for blood sugar can be just as bad (if not worse) than not enough support. Those main ones would be Cinnamon, Chromium, Gymnema Sylvestre, Fenugreek Seed, Nopal Cactus, Momordica (Bitter Melon), Alpha Lipoic Acid, and Vanadium. The best recommendation is to check with a doctor that knows about supplements or a natural doctor to see which one would be safest for each different person. Good luck!

With the newer types of insulin these days, diabetic diets aren't necessarily as restrictive as they used to be. Read here https://tr.im/diabetestreat

As with any medicine or diet change, you should discuss it with your doctor. Fruits, both fresh and dried, have a natural sugar in them that will raise blood sugar levels, so be careful about eating too much. Not sure about the nuts. Moderation is always the key. I've been diabetic for 18 years and just recently changed insulin types. I love it because it gives me more freedom in when and what I eat.

Diabetes is usually treated through a combination of diet (low sugar), exercise and medications/insulin. Milder cases can be controlled with just diet an/or exercise while more severe cases require meds or insulin as well.

I understand both are supposed to help.

If it was a cure for diabetes many drug companies would go out of business !

Because they already have medicine that helps them, I would assume.
