How do you earn and lose points in yahoo answres?

Welcome to Yahoo Answers! You can earn points by answering questions. If you answer a question and get best answer you earn 10 points. If you answer a question, you get 2 points. Also you earn a point for logging on to Yahoo Answers. Another way to earn points is to choose a best answer. You get 3 points for that. You lose 5 points if you ask a question.

Well you lose points for asking questions (-5) and by deleting an answer (-2). You will gain points by choosing a "Best Answer" for your question (+3). Answering community questions (+2), as well as voting for best answers on undecided questions (+1). Each day you visit Y! answers you will be awarded 1 point. You will gain the most points by having your answer selected as the best (+10). In addition if your answer is selected you will also gain 1 point for each thumbs up you recieve.

The more points you accumulate the closer you will get to reaching a new level.
