When you have diabetes, does it affect your sex life?

i am female and yes mine does effect my sex drive.if My sugar is high i feel slow and sluggish and i Had no sex drive. if i can keep my sugar levels Even i feel better there for have a sex drive. i noticed that some of my medications effect my sex drive too. my blood pressure and anti depressant slows my sex down.

my dad had had diabetes for 48 years. he started having trouble with his sex drive in his early 40's. he went to doctors and he tried pills and even shots to try and help .they would work for a while and stop working. abut 6 years ago he had a penis pump put in . he said this has helped better than anything else he has tried.

whether your male or female if you are having trouble you need to talk to your doctor because everyone is different. your doctor can suggest the best thing for you since he knows your medical history. there is so much out there to help with your sex drive you just have to ask your doctor about it.

I don't know about females but I know males with diabetes can have problems with erectile dysfunction.

I had Penile Dysfunction, and was unable to have a satisfactory erection for intercourse. My feelings went out to my wife. I knew she still wanted and needed sex. Once I found I had Prostate xcancer, and had that removed, along with removal of my testicles, all hope was gone.

in men its a common cause of impotence. Iused to have men come into the health food store and ask for a viagra alternative - I would tell them they should speak to thier doctors simply because it can be caused by some dangerous things - and wouldn't ya know it, a couple came back to thank me because they found out they had diabetes.
