Die berühmtesten Lieder von Georg Friedrich Händel?

Wir sollen einen Vortrag machen über Händel, in dem hauptsächlich seine Musik vorkommt. Nun habe ich ziemlich viele Lieder von ihm, wollte aber wissen welche "die Besten" sind? Welche denkt ihr sollten da unbedingt dabei sein?

Händel hat unglaublich viel Musik hinterlassen, von "Liedern" kann man da kaum sprechen.

Neben der "Feuerwerksmusik" und "Wassermusik" ist natürlich der "Messias" ein sehr wichtiges Werk und Händel war vor allem in England (wo er fast 30 Jahre lang lebte) natürlich für seine Oratorien bekannt! Es ging ja mit der italienischen Oper irgendwann bergab, und da musste ein neuer "Broterwerb" her - so wurde eine neue Musikgattung quasi geboren, das biblische Oratorium in englischer Sprache. Heute werden die Oratorien auch gerne in der Oper szenisch aufgeführt (also mit Bühnenbild), was damals nicht üblich war. Die Aufführungen fanden zwar nicht unbedingt immer in Kirchen statt, aber eben ohne Bühnenbild.

Ich meine, dass er so in der Gattung 'Lieder' eher nicht so doll war. Du meinst: Werke. Oratorien, Suiten, Opern, etc. Ich selbst mag den 'Messias' sehr sehr gerne, ein fast dreistÃ¼ndiges Oratorium. Sehr bekannt daraus ist das 'Halleluja', es ist wohl das bekannteste StÃ¼ck Ã¼berhaupt von ihm. Ich selbst mag aber alle StÃ¼cke des Messias', vor allem die von den Solisten gesungenen.

Lieder in diesem Sinne gibt es nicht.
Denn der Â»LiederkranzÂ« war noch nicht erfunden...

Aber, es gibt Arien, ChÃ¶re und andere HÃ¶hepunkte,
die man kennen MUSS, will man Ã¼ber HÃ¤ndel schreiben.

Es ist viel zuviel Material, als dass ich es so aus 
dem Kopf herbeten kÃ¶nnte. Schade. Und es ist eine
Menge Material, aber mit dem "Messias" bist Du immer auf der sicheren Seite. Beim "Messias" oder "Messiah" kannst Du nichts falsch machen ; es ist fast jede Arie, jeder Chor ein ABSOLUTER HIT. Wenn man das mal so salopp-modern ausdrÃ¼cken darf....
