Is there any difference between USB cables made during USB version 1.1?
I have an older USB cable, I believe from version 1.1, but I'm not sure. Is there any difference between a cable from version 1.1 and one from version 2.0? Is there any difference between cables? Thanks.

Yes, there is a difference.
USB 2.0 is a higher speed specification vs 1.1 (480 Megabits per second vs 12 Megabits per second). The cables look the same and have the same connectors and may work. However, USB cables certified for USB 2.0(Hi-Speed Certified USB), should be used for USB 2.0 rated devices. Using cables rated for version 1.1 USB devices can cause problems, especially if they are over 6 feet long.

As far as USB Cable goes, there is no USB Cable 1.1 or 2.0
However, for the ports, there is a difference.
USB 1.1 is capable of transfer rates of up to 11MB/s while USB 2.0 is capable of I believe up to around 400MB/s
But you can use an older cable and still get the same transfer speed no matter what USB 1.1 or 2.0 ports you have.
So the cable does not increase or decrease your transfer speed, that is dependent on the device connected to your computer and the type of usb device you have installed in your computer.
If you connect a USB 1.1 device to your USB 2.0 port in your computer, you are only going to get speeds of up to USB 1.1 speed and nothing more. So USB 2.0 is backwards compatible with USB 1.1

the only real difference between the 2 is the USB 2.0 cables are certified for that standards transfer speed.. older cables should still work, but might not be as fast transfer rate wise..
if the device your trying to hook up is usb2.0, you will need a 2.0 cable to use it though

hell yes there is! but it will make a small difference it will be faster with 2.0 cable. there are made differently. and it also depends on what you are hoocking up to your computer.
