The risk for acquiring HIV is lower for oral sex than for vaginal or anal sex, but it is still possible to contract the disease this way. The risk is greater for the person performing oral sex than the person receiving. The main way that HIV can be contracted through oral sex is if the person performing oral sex has an open sore or cut inside their mouth, but remember that viruses are extremely small, so they can make their way inside an extremely small sore, such as an area where the gums bleed from brushing.
Always use protection and get tested for HIV if you are at risk for getting the disease.

Yes. If the person receiving the oral sex is HIV+, then they can transmit it to the person performing the oral sex. If both partners are HIV negative, then having oral sex cannot transmit something that wasn't there to begin with.
Oral sex (with or without a condom) is considered low risk....meaning that it is theoretically possible and has happened in a relatively small number of cases compared to High Risk activities like unprotected vaginal/anal sex and sharing needles.
The mouth, in general, is pretty inhospitable to HIV. Saliva (WHICH CANNOT TRANSMIT HIV) actually contains an enzyme that helps to inhibit HIV. There are condiitons that can increase the risk of transmission from oral sex
-cuts, burns, tears in the mouth
-ulcers, or active sexually transmitted infections in the mouth
-anything that disrupts the oral mucosa (eating rough substances that can cause abrasions in the mouth.
-major risk: recent dental work!!!!!
-it should also be noted that it is recommended that a person wait 30minutes to 2 hours after brushing/flossing their teeth before performing oral sex as the gums may bleed slightly and that can increase the risk of HIV getting into the bloodstream.
You can reduce your risk even further when performing oral sex by using a condom or dental dam (vagina/anus). It is best to use a non-lubricated and flavoured condom.
The level of risk you choose to take is up to you, but it is important to make sure you know the facts to make an informed decision on the level of risk you take. Speak to a public health nurse or sexual health clinic worker about this issue (and others). It is YOUR body and your HEALTH and YOU need to take responsibility to protect yourself.
Hope this helps

Any abrasion or a sore area on the genitalia and oral cavity is a potential entry point for the virus if the person was not infected. Like wise such areas can be the source of virus for infecting others from an infected person. Saliva also contains virus depending on the magnitude of viremia of the person and can also be infective to some extent, on the other hand all the genital secretion are highly infectious.

Absolutely not!Though I am not an authority on medical matters, but from all I have seen on media & read about it,it is impossible to get AIDS by having oral-sex.

Hi there !
Yes..of course...but the chances are minimal....!
Any discontinuity in the mucous membrane of the oral cavity is definitely a risky factor .
best wishes !

you cannot get aids from someones salivia..so techinically no. now if the person with aids has a sore in there mouth then it's HIGHLY possible. just be safe, and if you're not sure DON'T DO It..is it worth getting that disease?? ask yourself that. good luck!

Absolutely not?? What a maroon.
According to the CDC it is possible but the risk is lower than that from vaginal or anal sex.
