My week old baby pooped five times in three hours. I do not know what to do? Do you think she is diarreah?
Can someone explain what is wrong with her?

Chances are really high that there is absolutely nothing wrong with her. Especially if you are breastfeeding it is extremely unlikely that she would have diarrhea. Also babies poop a lot and it doesn't come out all at once like it does with adults -- their little bodies just release it automatically and that is most likely just a little bit at a time and it seems like a lot because it doesn't all happen at once. I would say she's perfectly fine. Be carefule careful about keeping her bottom covered in some ointment to prevent diaper rash because that can really hurt especially if she has sensitive skin. One thing is that if it were me, I would call the doc with questions because that is what they are there for. If you have a one week old baby, you will understandably have concerns and questions and they should get answered so you can feel reassured. No need to worry about lots of poops!

Diarreah would be very watery - just like liquid in the diaper. If it's solid, I don't think you need to worry. Maybe her digestion is just kicking in. It can be very stressful with a new baby because anything that happens seems new and you're not sure if it's normal or not.
Keep an eye on her, make sure she's hydrated. And always go with your mommy instincts. If you think something's wrong, call the doctor.
Good luck.

My son did something similar. is the baby throwing up a lot too. anywya either way they have these little drinks for babies you can buy them at most grocery stores. its sort of like a sports drink the in way that it has elecrolights for the babies. if you baby is going that often you might want to make sure that they dont dehydrate. and these are formualted just for baby. they are in the baby isle with the juices and stuff. sort of clear.... you will see. also you know you can call your local pharmsist (if you dont have money for a dr.) and tell him whats going on. a lot of that stuff they have over the counter or if you know an older mom ask here. it IS normal for babies to get that but they will both have some good tricks that dont involve sitting at the hospital for hours..... :)

My 6mth old will sometimes go once a day and other times can go as many as 6 or 7 times in a day, usually the "up the back and down the leg" type and definately when I'm out without a change of clothes! It's pretty normal.

do no longer challenge, the foremost element is that he's feeding usually. 24 hours devoid of pooping isn't unusual at that age. once you're somewhat in contact you may help him by eating oranges and different ingredients that usually help bowel flow and you toddler gets that greater advantageous advance from you whilst breastfeeding. If he would not poop in the subsequent 24 hours, it is likewise okay to combine some cooled boiled water with some drops of organic, freshly squeezed orange juice. The well-being nurse cautioned that for my first toddler. finally, if this will become a chronic difficulty, perchance you may evaluate changing the formulation. toddlers do no longer probable elect the greater advantageous iron in the formulation till they are 6 month. the clarification being is they are born with iron "reserves"that usually final till they are 6 month. Than you're think to go them to the 2nd milk which as greater advantageous iron. sturdy success!

It's perfectly normal for newborns to poop a lot, but if you are concerned- call the local hospital's nurse line and ask if you should bring her to a doctor.
If she has a fever or has been very fussy with no explanation then she might have a virus or is reacting badly to her food. If she is taking formula her Dr. might recommend you try changing to a different type or brand of formula.
Call the nurse line first tho and ask their opinion.

it can be completely normal for a newborn to poop this much, although if you are worried at all you can still contact the maternity unit of your local hospital or your community midwife if your doctor isn't available.
whatever you do, do not give any electrolyte drinks to a baby without seeking advice from a qualified health professional, you could do more harm than good

I have a bundle of joy also...Sometimes the milk your giving her doesn't agree to her little tummy. And the baby will poop and it might be runny. Call the Dr. in the morning and make her appointment to see if its the milk...
