Isn't "alternative options" tautological?
Is there any reason why it is used so often (look the number of appearances in google) in the english language?
Thank you for your comments/answers. However, I'm still not clear by them. If options are not exclusive and alternative is exclusive. One could choose either to say "we have these alternatives." or "we have this options." Adding the alternative adjective to options wouldn't do much, would it?
I meant to say "these alternatives" or "these options." (misspell).

Yes it is. Just like "free gift" or "new innovation". Good question!

No, the term "alternative options" makes sense; for example, alternative medicine offers many options--these options are not available in conventional medicine--they are alternative options. I hope it helps.

If you take the word "alternative" to mean "other", and "options" to mean "choices", you could say that alternative options means "other choices", with the implication that there are many interesting choices due to the wording. "Alternative" implies different and cool. It is an over used and much abused word right now.

No - because not all options are mutually exclusive and therefore, not necessarily alternative.
