How can I transfer some data between two computers using modems?

Hi all,
I want to transfer about 9Gb of data from my laptop to my desktop PC. My laptop doesn't have a DVD writer and my desktop PC doesn't have a LAN card! 
So how can I use modems? I need the instructions...

This will take lots and lots of time the best thing to do is to connect by an ethernet card (network)

Though this will take a small amount of time, you can but a flash drive at Radioshack or any other PC store.  For about $20 or more (depending on the size) you can then put up to 2 gigs on the drive and then transfer it tto the other PC.  This device works with as a USB connection (which I am sure both PC's have).  Good Luck.

9 GB is a lot of data. Since your desktop doesn't have a lan card, it will take like forever to transfer using modems. My solution is a little costly, but very effective. Go buy an external hard drive. Copy 9 gb into that hard drive, then hook it to your desktop. Easy copy and paste should do the trick. good luck

Get  a program called "FlashFXP" it is an FTP server. It has all the instructions for setting it up. Very easy to use!
