Have you ever lost a loved one? If so, you are familiar with the sorrow that experience brings to a family. However, the unusual situation of my father in law lost brings especial pain to me and others of his postery. 30 years ago my husband’s father disappeared. He was serving as a diplomat of Cambodia in Egypt. His name is Sam An Tep. He was born 18.08.1937 in Penhum Pen Cambodia. Supposedly, he was sent on a mission by the Cambodian government. He had to fly to Cambodia on 13.10.76 and that was the last time he has been seen by his wife and three children. He never returned. No report or information was ever sent to the family concerning his status.

i try to look for information, but i only found few clues, maybe someone can help me.his name is Tep Sam An

There are organizations devoted to finding missing in action.

I don't know where you would start for a Cambodian, but you might find someone to tell you from an American MIA organization, they would know how to help or what direction to point you in for more information:

    http://www.aiipowmia.com/

http://lcweb2.loc.gov/pow/powhome.html (although this is a database for searching MIA records, there is a side menu there with different people to contact for further help)

http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo/ (contact them on their menu there for further help)

    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/honor/sfeature/sf_lis...

(in this link it talks about Vietnam and other countries also looking for THEIR Missing In Action people, and the name of a man in Vietnam who does this for the Vietnamese, maybe if you contact him he can tell you who can help you find your Cambodian Missing in Action person:

"Dr. Tran Van Ban, who buried hundreds of North Vietnamese soldiers during the war, has made it his mission to help identify the remains of both comrades and former enemies from the war. So far, he has helped locate more than 600 soldiers.

"I'm sad that the number I've found is so small compared to the number of mothers and fathers dreaming of finding their children," Ban once said. It's a feeling that loved ones of MIAs from any war are certain to understand.
