Shoes-off rule and providing slippers?
If you visited a home where you were asked to remove your shoes, would you prefer it if the host provided you with some slippers to wear?
Or would you find it too weird wearing somebody else's slippers?
Would you prefer to bring your own slippers or go shoesless?

Yea, its pretty gross to wear someone's slippers. I require ppl to take off their shoes. But I have carpet. Even if someone had wood floors or whatever, why would anyone be bothered to take off their shoes?? Not like you're walking around on mud floors.

I wouldn't want to wear anyone else's slippers...not the kind that can be machine washed. BUT...if you have rubber/plastic slippers that don't have soft interior (similar to flip flops) those work great.
I would prefer to go shoesless even if I could bring my own slippers. The slippers are dirtier than the carpet...due to prolonged contact...sweat and other disgusting smells and bacteria are on all slippers.

I would rather go shoeless. I would not want to wear someone else's slippers, and I don't know who wore those slippers before me. But honestly, I hate when I go to people's houses and they ask me to take off my shoes. I am more creeped out by what is crawling on other people's bare feet than I am about dirt on shoes from the ground. I also don't want to smell other people's feet. I've usually also taken care to select my shoes to go with my outfit, and I would rather have them on.

ooooo slippers on men yuck.
If I was you I would have naked feet. Mens' feet can be lovely like womans' if looked after. If people are cheeky enough to ask you to remove your shoes then I would remove the socks as well. But make sure you bath your feet in a bit of honey and lemon in hot water on a regular basis. You would have such lovely feet then.

I shall take the thumbs down on this answer as a genuine mistake on the awardees behalf. Of course this is a fantastic answer and although it may not earn the points. I shall put lack of points down to the fact it's better to follow the norm rather than the hap hazzard.

in my current home i do do the shoeless idea with slippers. Generally in most cases i buy inexpensive slip on sock like slippers then i mark with names for future reference when the people come over again. They get washed in the menatime. Saves on carpet wear etc.

I would not care to share slippers with several unknown feet. Going shoeless is OK with me, except when I've worn hose/stockings. Inevitably I'd get a run or two and that is the most annoying and expensive thing.

Disposable slippers please. Expensive ones too.
No, it doesn't bother me. Sometimes (if he's bugged me enough) I tell my kids dad to remove his shoes at the door just because he does what he's told!!
I couldn't wear someone elses slippers, uurr. If the floor was clean, shoeless, but I'd rather wear socks at least (what if they flicked snot on the floor).

A friend of mine, well her parent's house where she still lives, do this... Asian cultural influence I think paired with a newer house and white carpeting.
Honestly, I've always felt a bit awkward about it, but I respect their wishes. They do offer slippers if anyone wishes to wear them, but that's just too odd for me, so I just make sure I wear decent enough socks.

People have qualms about removing their shoes because of stinky feet. I think slippers would be great, as long as they were washed after each use.

I have a shoes off rule in my house and always just walk around in socks as do my kids. Whenever I go to someone elses house I take off my shoes as that is what I do at home. I would rather just walk around in my socks. My friends that have the same shoes off in the house rule just walk around in socks.
