Copyright and Bookselling ??
I'm not sure that's the right place for my question. A friend tried to get a book published and one publishing company seems interested. They send him an Email with following marks.
- How much is the cost of absolute copyright purchasing ?
- What are you conditions in absolute selling ?
The volume from his book is around 300 pages and the writing are reflexions and short stories.
He lives in Thailand and the Company ist oen of the biggest publishers in Thailand.
Is there somebody who knows the regular costs or royalties in Printingbuisiness ? Can someone give a guideline ?

Well, I would strongly advise your friend to find an agent or lawyer who can provide advice for them.
What the publisher is trying to do is set up terms for an agreement on a legal contract to publish. They want to purchase that right to publish the work. I guess the price and other terms can be arbitrary but your friend doesn't want to be shortchanged on just compensation, right?
