What makes you personally believe the Bible is true ?

The 365 specific prophesies of Jesus in the OT. They all came true! Science can't explain that!

Christianity has a rich history which started with the jews at the beginning of time. The bible is filled with historical facts that Archaeologists use and has been proven very reliable. We have over 5000 documented ancient findings of scripture, many in different languages, all the same. WE have the dead sea scrolls to prove this also. The Vatican just bought 2 gospels dating 90 ad, the same as we have today. There is prophesies that has come to pass from the bible that proves it's reliability. Over 300 just for the man Jesus.

The bible speaks to me, and I'm amazed that God puts new stuff in there! ;-D

Right before I turned to God I was praying, I was asking God a direct question, I had a bible, but knew nothing about it. I just sat there and opened it and it was a page that answered by question directly!! I almost dropped it -it freaked me out so much!

For me, I did it all backwards I think. I hadn't been to church, or picked up the Bible until AFTER I got saved.

I was in my twenties, and I had moved back in with my mom. She started watching the 700 club and I hate it! But after a few weeks, I thought to myself I'd pray the sinners prayer just so I could say, "See, doesn't work." and that would be the end of that!

I had NO idea that before the day was out I would suddenly start seeing things in a different light. Slowly and gradually I began to trust what these Christians were saying, and in time I began to pick up the bible and read it for myself.

At first I started reading it like I would any other history book, but over the years I have found out that the word is LIVING! Every time I read it, I gain new and deeper meaning in the words and because of it, I can live in victory and joy.

When people tell me the bible is full of contradictions, I can't help but point out that these so called "contradictions" are in reality the balance scales we are to use in every day life.

Because Jesus Christ caused me to be born again and totally changed me from the inside out when God spoke this simple word into my heart: "Maybe Jesus really did die for your sins".

With that word a great weight of sin and guilt and darkness and hopelessness was replaced by a great peace and love and sense of forgiveness and acceptance. I had never heard of such a thing happening to a person, having been raised Catholic. I didn't have anyone "witnessing" to me.

It wasn't until about a year later I started reading the Bible and discovered the passage where Jesus speaks to Nicodemus about being born again that I immediately recognized that was what happened to me.

I got the experience first, and the doctrine later!

Hebrews 4:12 the word of God id full of living power It is sharper than a sword cutting into your mind and thoughts. I believe that the bible is true Corithians 1:12 says that God gives us gifts of the holy spirit and who else can back that up only when it happens to us God is Good all the time. The Bible is the Truth and the way there is no other way but Gods way. God Gives you the Holy Spirit and really changes your personality around. GOD IS GOOD

My personal relationship with Jesus..

PLUS the fact that I very much fit into the category of those called who are "not many wise, not many noble."

I've made a lot of stupid decisions in my life and have subsequently suffered the consequences... but I have learned in those times to completely lean on the promises and lessons and advice in the Bible...

There have been times that I have prayed, and said to God, YOU said that if I keep my mind stayed on you, you would keep me in perfect peace. I desperately need that peace now, so, here goes. Then, despite the circumstance, I do like it says in Psalm 77 and "remember the days of the Most High," the good things I recall HIm having done... always, I have gotten peace.. great, unsurpassable peace.

When I choose to not fret, but pray, and then thank and praise God for the answer before I see it, (Philippians ch. 4), when I rejoice in the Lord esp. when I don't feel like it, when I pray without ceasing... I experience life at it's fullest and most joyful.

I know God, personally, I have tested HIs Word in real life, and found Him to be true to it.

When I was about 4, I asked God to be my "Father" and to teach me to read His Book and to explain what it meant.

:) He did so...very patiently, and very thoroughly for a little girl.

When it came time to starte the New Testament, we did it the same way...though I was older by then..After reading New Testament through, I started over again, and this time, .accepted Jesus (when I was about 14 1/2) and was baptized with the Holy Spirit the same week... Holy Spirit seemed like an old friend, ...and with my personal tongue, I was able to pray more effectively....and, the Holy Spirit just reinforced my belief in the Bible, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit Himself, lol.

Yes, I know...took me a while to get through the O.T., but I read it several times befiore starting NT...remember, I learned to read with it and through the years, playtime took some of my time away from reading with our Father God.

Didn't have a church going family...so, God was my everything, lol...and my Mother was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit around the same day I did, though we were miles apart while she was in the Hospital. God sure times things great, doesn't He? So, a few months later when she came home, we had each other to fellowship with until she found herself a church... :) But all these years later, we are still sisters in Christ and both have been blessed many times over :)

I am an Ordained Minister as well, but I am not christian. Most christians honestly believe that the bible is true because that is what they grew up hearing or the fear that if they don't live right they will burn in hell for eternity. WOW! I scare factor from the old days...maybe even the first in the entire world.

a rich history...so you call killing millions of women and children rich? For the glory of God? Read history hun before you go around saying that you have a rich history.

I believe in the Bible because it teaches how life works. God tells us to be good or rather be LIKE him. Mercy,Love, Kindness, Passion, Patience, Wisdom..it's all in the Bible. Some people will say... "i don't read the Bible because it's not real". Therefore, if they say that it only means they haven't read the bible not even its heading. If the Bible isn't real... IT wouldn't show us the ways and fruits of good labor and Love.

Woe for those people who said the Bible isn't real for they have seen yet they didn't, for they've heard yet they didn't listen.

The thing is what ever we do good or Bad (just like in the bible) will have a result. But the Bible teach us to have and do a a good loving life with God. So if it's not real then there's not gonna be any result or we're not just gonna talk about it...

and I also found out the meaning of the parable of the mustard seed. Faith... if man can just have a little bit of faith like that of a mustard seed, they will be able to do what is good to do. But for those who doesn't even have a crumb of faith... Woe, for they won't learn, see, and live the truth. Just like God told us what good to Do and Oh! i would like to have this opportunity to say this about God. I f God doesn't exist... no one's gonna bother to write his teaching of good life and Love on the Bible.

For those who have knowledge... they know God exist but for those who ignore the knowledge.... God will talk to them himself.

The life of Christ. As far as most of the Bible? I think much of it is based upon pagan myths. I am a spiritual person and I do believe in our Supreme God and Christ. However, I find most religions to be in error. There are truths about God and Christ in the Bible and these have led to further truths found elsewhere. God echoes and is everywhere.
