Why people who want to know about Jesus or Christianity, do not want to read the New Testament themselves?

A major problem is the King James Bible. King James was a Catholic that did not want the Bible in English, in his country. But he could not stop them. So he ordered his own made and ordered 400 words to have totally different meanings. Like where all other translated Bibles have "wild ox" and "wild oxen" king James ordered "unicorns" to be put in. Then there are 800 to 900 other words (times each used)that have a totally different meaning today than they did then. causing a great confusion. Apparently set up with the devil at King James' side.

The King Jame Bible did not become popular until people stop caring what was in the Bible, as long as they had one. The Pilgrim's of the Mayflower sure refused to use it. It took at least another 100 years.

What you said should be an encouragement for people to read the bible. Sad to say, too many people prefer to live by the traditions that were handed down to them.

one point I would like to add : remember the account in the bible about the Ethiopian reading the book of Isaiah in his chariot? Phillip helped him to understand what he was reading.

This can be seen as an encouragement for lovers of truth (which you seem to be ) to obtain for themselves teachers that well versed in the scriptures to aid them in acquiring accurate knowledge

It is very difficult for a non believer to understand the Bible unless the read it with a concordance and many of them don't know that there is such a thing. I have found many people who have tried and just gave up because it made no sense to them.

After we become believers, we have the Holy Spirit to help illuminate out minds to God's word. Non believers do not have this, so it is up to believers to give them the direction and help they need to understand it. That is why it is good to hand out tracts or give them daily devotionals.

That's why I always try to answer with a scripture so the person can read it for them selves in black and white. John 10: 27-28 speaks about knowing a voice, how can you know the voice if you have not put your time in knowing what he wants and the purpose of it all, many Christan's have it laid in their laps in church but do not teat the scriptures. you need to know him by a study of his word.

Usually, their parents have cornered the market on Christianity. They despise their parents and believe Christianity made them into the horse's *** they are.

If you read and study the Bible yourself you may become an atheist. They don't want to risk it.

I tried to read that book but it was too boing, gruesome and had too many contradictions.
