Have you ever created a disaster?
by not reading the package or recipe instructions properly. Whether it is cookery, DIY or anything else?

It wasn`t my fault, it was the wife`s.
We had 14 coming for Christmas dinner, and as an alternative to Christmas pudding she put a tinned fruit sponge in the oven.
It was getting towards crunch time, in more sense than 1,
and nerves were getting on edge.
I asked if she had pierced the tin before putting it in the oven and recieved a somewhat terse remark and retreated to the lounge to entertain the guests.
Dinner was served and sudenly the dog came out of the kitchen like an exocet missile, AND BANG.
The oven door was off it`s hinges with fruit sponge and Chrissy pud splattered all over everywhere.
Anyway we had mince pies for back up.

Yep, cooking eggs in a microwave instead of a frying pan / griddle. had a mold for the eggs to be cooked in but when egg left the M/W and put in a sandwich the pressure in the yolk exploded, covering about 5 people in expensive business suits with egg. And causing shock to the poor bloke who bitten into the sandwich I'd just made!
Was following written instructions from a new management team at the time, strangely changed when cleaning bills arrived. :)

I wouldnt call it a disaster - but - my cousin was getting married in a small church which was out in the Lincolnshire countryside. I was convinced I knew the way, I had been there once before for a family doo. So I was navigator, in the car with me was the brides granny, great aunt and uncle and driving was the brides god father. All went well, we left early, plenty of time, no rush - and you guessed it I got us lost, we arrived for photos outside the church AFTER the wedding. ooops!! so on reflection - may be a mini disaster. I have kind of been forgiven - not!!!

Yes. I said "I do." (but not anymore, so that's okay)
I wish I could write the disaster that first comes to mind, one that occurred because I didn't use something properly, in this case a thermometer... but I don't think we need to go there! Suffice it to say all lived 'cause there was a doctor in the house...

Well none with recipes... but I can think of lots of other disaster's I've created. Then again, I'm not as bad as my mother, who created the biggest disaster of all time.... me.

When I was younger, I attempted to make some homemade biscuits. Instead of using Baking Powder (red canister), I used Baking Soda (yelllow box). Biscuits were okay but pretty fizzy.

Well .... About a week ago i pretty much blew up the microwave by not piercing one of those microwave dinner things for my cousin.
Its okay though it still works but every time we use it the place stinks of burning lasagne.

Yeah! Actually, one time when I was baking cookies with this instant mix, I accidentally added eggs when it says on the package that you don't need to add eggs. Yikes!!!
That was a nightmare!

I haven't, but my brother is a "walking disaster" looking for a place to happen!
