Yes, take it to an area where it won't be trampled on or tormented by young children. Tarantulas are very good for the environment. While they're venomous (as all spiders are) their bites are not lethal to people.

Make sure it's a native tarantula and not someone's escaped pet. Other then that, you could just let it go. It's unusual that it would be far away from it's hiding place. Most tarantulas from the southwest have burrows that they spend most of their time in. The only ones that really walk along are males in search of a mate. I'd let him go. He doesn't have much chance of successfully mating as it is. Male tarantulas don't live anywhere near as long as females.

move it to the forest, and then you move to ontario (toronto, kitchener, guelph, cambridge) we dont have tarantulas, bleh!!!!! i would have hadd a heart attack and im getting the creepy crawlies right now, ewww!!!

Take it to a nearby park or open area and let it go.

I am terrified of all spiders! I would have my husbank kill it. (he probably just acts like it, and moves it to a new location though).

I hate spiders so I would have killed it lol. My dad tried to get me to pick one up once and I cried until my sister killed it.

Let it go. They're fine.
