For Hindus. It is said that when you are born your fate/destiny is already written.?
Now when there is some problem the astrologer or guru advises that if you perform some sort of pooja or donate something to a temple etc your problem/troubles will be solved.
Now I am confused that when its in your fate.destiny to under go this problem how can it be changed?
I am confused. So one is making a fool of us.

All this palmistry, horscope or anyother future detecting stuff are meant for hopeless or for those who need some peace of mind.
Really there is very tiny possiblity of anything truly happening by those calculation may be a million in one may come true.
Fate or destiny are as mysterious as life itself. All this predictions and calculations are simply to gain hope and to create awareness and fear.
Otherwise its just plainly crap and timepass.

True it is that Fate or Destiny is set at Birth depending upon the time of birth and the positions of the navagrahas then.
Then again there have been examples where destinies have changed by mere karma.
Technically the destiny that you are talking about is nuthing but a generalized idea or a general course one's life would take and a lot of it depends on the choices we make. When an astrologer advises to perform a certain pooja or a ritual he basically is trying to offset the imbalances in one's life by the arrangement of the navagrahas who are constantly on the move at that time.
Take my example, due to rahu's influence on my natal chart I was not able to settle down in my career. As I am ruled by Shani and rahu is of the same side as shani I opted to befriend it by wearing its stone (Gomeda), and now I am well settled in my career and have been working in the same field for the past 6 years. And this is a true personal experience.
Should I have taken it as a destiny that I shall not have a settled career? No I strived and bettered myself at what I do and learned and worked hard for where I am today. Wearing a stone or performing rituals do not ascertain your success but only your karma or actions define it.
Things like poojas and wearing stones certainly help subconsciously in stabilizing the thought process and creating a positive attitude towards performing the right karma.
Belief in yourself is the only way not to be fooled.
thanks

No our fate or destiny is not rock solid. Our actions & attachments of previous births decides how we have to be in this birth to maintain continuity but our current actions are creating destiny for now or future births depending on our action or karma. When an astrologer advises you to perform a pooja or donate which in fact is an action itself helps in correcting negative effects of earlier karma or actions.

Have confidence, no need of any customs. Make team of family members to solve problems.
Fate is build by ourselves. only 25% is inherited from parents.

I live in India. I know many hindus who don't believe in the so-called destiny. They believe in action or karma.

they don't ask for money, if you find one does then they are not honest and you should visit a different temple.
also you only have to pray (pooja) if you want to, you don't have to, because if you don't pray you were not meant to pray, if you do then you were meant to pray.
