Is Jesus God? I believe he claimed to be a messenger and son of god.?

John 1:18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

John 10:30 (Jesus says) I and the Father are one.”

NOTICE John 10:33... WHY did the Jews try to stone Jesus?

The Bible states that he claimed to be God. If you believe that he claimed to be anything different, then you are using sources other than the Bible.

Anyway, CS Lewis put an end to this question about 80 years ago. Jesus claimed to be God. Therefore, the possibility of him being "a good teacher" or "a prophet" or anything else along those lines is ridiculous--no messenger of God would claim to be God, since it would be bold-faced blasphemy.

That leaves three choices... Jesus was either:

1) Insane;

2) A Liar; or

3) God.

You choose which one sounds most accurate, but if you believe he existed, then those are your only choices.

Jesus is the Son of God.When God said in Genesis"Let US create Man in OUR image" He was referring to GOD the Father,The Son (Jesus) and the Holy spirit.Jesus also said in the gospel's "No man knows the day or hour of the end time,not even the Son,but only the father(GOD) in Heaven".And also keep in mind Jesus sits on the right hand side of God's throne interceeding for u everytime U sin,if U are saved and believe of course.

If you seek earnestly, He will make you understand. because I asked for more understanding. In John 14, Jesus has explained about the relationship of Him and The Father and also The Holy Spirit.

Pray for more understanding.

But surely God is there, I have thought that He was invisible and never bothers human as in bible. But lately in Nov 2006, I have received God's precious gift of Holy Spirit and I can also tell that anyone who seeks God and wants to follow Jesus can ask God for a closer relationship with Him. I was a worthless person, but God changed me.

But I'll give Scripture that says Jesus is God.

Who did Jesus say he was? At John 10:36, he called himself God's Son.

We were made in

the image of God.

Yes, but only in that we all are sons of god, or co-creators of our reality. We all live by faith literally - experience what we have learned to believe is true about ourselves and the world. But, this is only our egoic identity's thought system. Jesus offered a specific metaphorical way for purification; psychological ego death and rebirth of the original 'authentic' Christ Self within.

He is NOT God. 'I and my Father are one' obviously means that his will and actions conform to the will and actions of the Father, not that he is co-eternal with God. Anyone who says otherwise needs to look at the texts rationally. Jesus never once claimed to be God. He is a messenger FROM God as you say.
