Money for wrong doing == OH GOD=== where is the punishment?

Yes, money doesn't really make amends for wrong doing. However, when evil deeds have been done, amends must be made. What better alternative do you suggest? Whipping? Amputation? Beheading? Or have I forgotten a better solution?

The money was assessed against the archdiocese for its negligence. That's a CIVIL settlement. You can't put a diocese in jail. The molesters are still subject to CRIMINAL trial, and their sentence, including prison, is up to the court. Please get your facts straight.

The BIG issue with the pedophiles is that it is said that every pedophile had been a victim at some time...

So, then, a member of ANY clergy whom does such a thing has at some point excused this behavior as "ok"...why? Would have had to be another person they had believed to be a "godly" man whom had done it to THEM in order for them to absolve it as "ok", don't you think? Otherwise, this would be a warring factor within them and they could not HONESTLY believe it was "ok".

THAT is the pollutant here which invades our churches and Faiths....stopping the ones whom do it helps, but, they have already passed on their infectious DISEASE of the mind and body to impressionable young people whom have to come to grips with it within their own minds by men whom they and their congregation and family thought to be a "man of GOD".

Satan is the enemy, folks...NOT "religion". However, having said that, no church should hide or pardon the person whom committed such an act...they should be doing what the law does within other area's and unfrock/disbar/ban/etc.,. for what they have done and made to speak at their place of worship before they leave, admitting what they had done, so the impressionable youth SEE it as a SIN for what it is, and the consequences, and not go and continue the chain!

a priest has promist God not to have sex and often is dealing with young boys. he is the adult and the children often are not awear or are scared to say what has happened to them. the faxt yournd people ,ay experiment sexual ay a young age amoung themselfs ( which is bad) does not excose any adult who abuses a child and a priest is worst of all as he is trusted by the childrens parents. Money can never make up for what the child lost but at least it proves that the church accept it happened which for centuries they have denied.

Not sure I'm following your post exactly right, but I agree with you on the part of the priests. These guys raped children. There shouldn't be a payoff, there should be jailtime.

As far as sexual experiences before marriage, well, I see no problem with that personally. Just my opinion though. It's my choice on when I want to have sex, nobody else's.
