Is it true that on Feb7,2009, that analog broadcast channels will cease to exist?

Received an e-mail from a friend which stated that Congress picked the date for all of the US....this means no-one will be able to watch local programming with just an antennae anymore....will have to purchase special boxes.....what do you all think or know about this?

    yes its true, we have to buy them digi boxes and have digital aerials in our roof. crap aint it
