Church tithe question?

Ok, so why is it that the same churches who rail uncontrollably against the "sins" of gambling are the same ones first in line with their hands out when one of their parishoners hit the lottery?

any church that begs for money or asks for handouts or holds fund raisers etc..is not sent by God and is a fraud.

Jesus told the deciples to go and preach and leave the begging bags at home. they would be provided for where the word is received. No different today. Churches that feed the true word bring in millions and never ask once for a dime.

And your reference is ...? If the parishoner wins the lottery it's their choice to pay tithe on the winnings or not. As far as I've noticed, there are more people outside the church that hit them up for money than inside the church.

What church does such? if it was the one I went to I would move on. The giving and tithing by an individual is between themselves and the Lord, it not for anyone else to say what they should do with their money. The church should be known for the preaching of God's word and the caring of the flock, "feed my sheep". If the individual is taught how to tithe and give according to the word then don't harp on the money thing.

Gambling can become an adictive behaviour and as such most churches would agree it is not the best source for support and tithes. When someone wins the lottery, if they are convinced in tithes, then there is a portion for their church.

un true, 99% of the time the church refuses to take money won in gambling, but some churches will accept it due to the fact that it is not a sin to gamble, but it is a sin to gamble if you do not have the money to.

The Church I attend doesn"t knowingly accept Gambling Money. The giving back to God is an act of Worship, and We

are giving back to God a Portion of what He has given us:

Man gives to God from Money He has worked for; Giving

God money we didn"t Earn isn"t a Sacrifice,so You might consider keeping it in Your wallet----# 2 Giving money to God ,because someone has told You too or You Grudgling give ,You might think about keeping that in Your wallet/ That isn"t giving with a willing Heart, not acceptable.

I lived in Las Vegas for 10 years, and went to church there (yes, there are actually some churches, other than 'wedding chapels', in Vegas). One time a stranger came to the church and offered a huge wad of cash (close to the equivalent to our annual budget, I understand) that he had won in a casino. Our pastor turned him away, and most of the congregation agreed with his decision.

So... don't think all churches are as you describe.

I have no problem with the Lotto... but many Cngregations, including the one I am with, will not, knowingly, take tithes from lotto winnings. ... The upkeep of the building must be concidered... and there are many poor in need coming to the church asking for help... and many others bills to pay... and money is money.

The person's church shouldn't have to put their hand out. A parishioner wins $6 million and never thinks for a second about charity? Greed overcomes morality?

our church will not accept tithes on lottery, etc... I think Catholics are the only ones who condone gambling.
