Look on the website OneStepAhead.com. I don't know if its exactly what you're looking for, but they have a clear plastic shield thingy that blocks off the front of the stovetop so kids can't reach and grab a hot pot or touch the stove... this website/catalog pretty much has it all for child proofing things. Hope it helps!

One Step Ahead, as another answerer stated is a great place to get safety stuff. Some of the items they sell at discount stores are not very effective -- or else they keep the children AND the adults from getting to things! LOL

I think this is the item you are referring to:http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?pr...

If the link doesn't work, go to OneStepAhead.com and look for "Adjustable Stove Guard". It's in the safety section, listed under electrical/appliances.

The concept of landlord bad and tenant good is not always true. The landlord has responsibilities to safely maintain the gas fittings and electric apparatus within the rented property. From what I have gleaned from your lengthy statement, you have a solid fueled back boiler responsible for the total heating and domestic hot water requirements of your dwelling. If this is the case, then your inability to adjust and maintain a hot water supply would be the responsibility of the landlord. If you have alternatives like an emmersion cylinder to supply hot water and power sockets to enable oil filled heaters to warm the rooms then the issue becomes diffused. When you took up tenancy you agreed the rent and provisions within the flat which forms the tenancy agreement. Any breakdowns and repairs to electrical and gas appliances would normally be solely the responsiblity of the landlord. Many council properties have emmersion heating for the hot water for cheapness and convenience, in spite of the high running costs for the tenants.

i totally can relate-i bought all the safety stuff with my first child and he found ways around them. the plugs that go in the outlets-he found a way to get them out and one day i caught him putting my keys in the socket!!! yikes!! so i had to eventually move all my furniture around to cover the outlets. the latches that go on the cabinets, my son yanked and tugged so hard that they broke. after all the are plastic, and as far as a safety gate goes-forget it-he shook and shook it so much that he eventually knocked it down. i dont know how old your kids are, but safety stuff doesnt always work for all kids. i used to take the knobs off the stove when it wasnt in use. but one day i wasnt thinking and left a pot on the stove with the handle turned out-almost!!!

I dont think we have that here at the normal stores, you have to find it online somewhere. That why they always teach you to put the pot handles facing the back of the stove so kids cant reach up and grab them and to cook on the burners farthest from the kids reach.

Here's a couple of sites that might be helpful. When searching, "Prince Lionheart" is an excellent company for baby/child safety products!

    At Walmart:

    At Target:

    http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-8/qid=11...

    Hope this helps!!!

you may have to order them on the internet I have never heard of them but they sound like a good idea. I have just trained my kids that they do not tough the stove or oven and when it is on they are not allowed in the kitchen. But like I said the internet is probably the place you will need to look for those.
