A Question for Jewish people?

I once met an orthodox Rabbi (curly locks, black outfit, and hat chumash in pocket) from New York. He clarified to me that according to Talmudic law and the teachings of the holy torah the state of Isreal is an illegal and unlawful becuase the state of Israel should only be built by the instruction of the awaited messiah. He said that Israel is definitely not built on religion but a secular one and those who run it are masonic mafia types and definitely not practicing Jews. He ended by blowing me away saying that that land should only be recognized as Palestine and that the oppression must stop and the Jews must leave remaining in exile until the coming of the messiah.

What's your take on this???

Yes, the Zionist movement was started by secular Jews. Orthodox Jews were totally opposed because of the points you mention. However, when conditions became intolerable in Europe, most Orthodox Jews relented in order to escape death. So, yes, there are still Ultra-Orthodox anti-Zionist Jews who deny the existance of the State of Israel from the steps of the Kenneset (govt)!

It was secular Jews who fought for the State of Israel. Not than many people will believe that though because they are all convinced that the problem is religious... sigh.

You will pardon me for being a bit skeptical. While there are indeed a tiny minority of anti-Zionist religious Jews (let's say 0.00001 percent), there are certain things here that just don't fit.

This Palestine but, for example. The following is the statement of a Muslim Arab:

“Why is it that on June 4th 1967 I was a Jordanian and overnight I became a Palestinian?”

“We did not particularly mind Jordanian rule. The teaching of the destruction of Israel was a definite part of the curriculum, but we considered ourselves Jordanian until the Jews returned to Jerusalem. Then all of the sudden we were Palestinians - they removed the star from the Jordanian flag and all at once we had a Palestinian flag”.

“When I finally realized the lies and myths I was taught, it is my duty as a righteous person to speak out”.

This declaration by a true "Palestinian" should have some significance for a sincerely neutral observer. Indeed, there is no such a thing like a Palestinian people, or a Palestinian culture, or a Palestinian language, or a Palestinian history. There has never been any Palestinian state, neither any Palestinian archaeological find nor coinage. The present-day "Palestinians" are an Arab people, with Arab culture, Arabic language and Arab history. They have their own Arab states from where they came into the Land of Israel about one century ago to benefit from the Jewish immigration. That is the historical truth. They were Jordanians (another recent British invention, as there has never been any people known as "Jordanians"), and after the Six-Day War in which Israel utterly defeated the coalition of nine Arab states and took legitimate possession of Judea and Samaria, the Arab dwellers in those regions underwent a kind of anthropological miracle and discovered that they were Palestinians - something they did not know the day before.

In any event, the viewpoint you have presented is rejected by all in the Jewish community except a tiny lunatic fringe.

You ran into a Hasidic Jew. This is a member of an Ultra Orthodox group.

    http://judaism.about.com/od/denominationsofjudaism...

They read the scripture from a very literal point of view and feel that it directs that the home of "Israel can only be created once the Messiah has come."

While this is what they believe it doen't make it correct.... (if it did we should ALL be afraid of ISLAM for what the prophet says- you know the death to all infidells thing)

Personally I think your post was not to inform or to be informed but to stir up contempt and hate. It's a pity in this world that there are people who have nothing better to do.

As far as the State of Israel..... there is no debate anymore. It has celebtered it's 59th Birthday. It is not going anywhere without a fight.

Yes I know.... your position is most likely one of well it should go away..... if you take that position, then every country in the world should revert back to it's original owners....

I mean the United States is only 231 years old, should it be given back and all the 350,000,000 people go back to where their families are historically from?

    Other examples would be:

The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is almost entirely the creation of King Ibn Saud (1882–1953). A descendant of Wahhabi leaders, he seized Riyadh in 1901 and set himself up as leader of the Arab nationalist movement. By 1906 he had established Wahhabi dominance in Nejd and conquered Hejaz in 1924–1925. The Hejaz and Nejd regions were merged to form the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932, which was an absolute monarchy ruled by sharia. A year later the region of Asir was incorporated into the kingdom.

    Only 72 years old.

The Province of Kosovo was formed in 1945 as an autonomous region to protect its regional Albanian majority within the People's Republic of Serbia as a member of the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia under the leadership of the former Partisan leader, Josip Broz Tito, but with no factual autonomy. After the Yugoslavia's name changed to the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Serbia's to the Socialist Republic of Serbia in 1953, the Autonomous Region of Kosovo and gained inner autonomy in the 1960s.

Based on this they are only 47 years old....

So again.... your question ( argument) has no practicle use except to inflame passons. Oh and by the way.... the area in which you speak has been inhabited by Jewish tribes before the birth of Mohammed..( see the Qur'an)

The Jews had, with many others lived in the land but

what came in Mohammed's time was subterfuge and destruction of the Jewish tribes of Qurayza, Khaybar, Khaynuqa, and Nadhir and forced conversion of the Jews and any other tribes that lived in the area.

Pretty radical stuff for a rabbi to be saying. Those may be his views but you can bet that they're not the views of the vast majority of practising Jews.

The State of Israel was formed as a result of the efforts of the British in 1948 and immediately recognized as a lawful nation by the USA and numerous other countries.

The people running Israel are in no way a "Masonic" anything. They're elected just as the leaders of your country are.
