Who loves Chemistry???

I'm all for chem, too. Knowledge of how the universe operates at an almost unimaginably minute level; variety of diffent aspects; just enough math to make it fun and keep your math skills sharp. The bio courses I've had presented some interesting info, but I liked it less because so much seemed to be memorization of what people decided to call things. And oh my Gawd those long papers complete with citations from cumbersome journal articles...

I think right now you're just feeling overwhelmed because you are being expected to use chemistry knowledge that you either haven't yet learned or has become rusty. As you get comfortable with those concepts, you'll probably change your negative view of chemistry.

I ended up getting a PhD in chemistry. I started out as a microbiology major but there was so much chemistry involved I decided to double major. Anyway to make a long story short when I was taking general chemistry I hated it, absolutely hated it, but when I took organic chemistry I really enjoyed it. Today I work in the pharmaceutical industry in drug discovery and it is very enjoyable as well as challenging. My advice to you would be to try to be open minded about chemistry and give it a chance. Remember the most basic sciences are ranked this way; math, physics, chemistry, and biology. If you create a solid foundation in math, physics, and chemistry the biology will be a lot easier. I like chemistry..those covalent bonds..electrons..IUPAC..and lab experiments. I also used to memorize all the elements on a periodic table when I was hs.
