Do you think the garage accident before qualifying slowed Alonso's car?
one of the overhead lighting pods in the garage had fallen down overnight on Fernando Alonso's car. The front wing and side pod was damaged but the team fixed it before quali. fernando said before the race that it wouln't be a problem and that he was confident the team could fix it.
Do you think the accident was one reason why Fernando struggled in Bahrain? He said after the race that he didn't have grip and had oversteer/ understeer. I'm sure Mclaren will try to get to the bottom of that because Fernando is a consistent driver. He has some weak tracks like Indianapolis but Bahrain was never one of them. And for him to struggle on a track he HAS won twice and in a very dominant manner is so puzzling. Do you think it affected his race?
i know that a lot of people don't like Alonso but I would like an unbiased answer pls.

First and foremost: I like Alonso.
Secondly, yes, the garage incident slowed Alonso's car. The lighting pod (ordinary tube light mounting) fell on the car and damaged the front wing.
Even Alonso had said that the garage mishap was the one that compromised his performace in Bahrain. He would have won Bahrain 3 times in a row but unfortunately!
Here is a news article I found for you in which Alonso says the obvious truth:

Yes I read about it the day before the race, something fell over the car but they didnt use the sparecar. his performance did seem abnormaly slow, considering what a machine (in terms of cold blooded consistency) Fernando Alonso usually is. It could be either that or maybe he grew overconfident after his first win with McLaren. Either way I think we will all see it more clear after the next race in spain, it's his chance to do a good performance and he better use it cause if he doesn't the press is gonna b talking more and more about how Hamilton is so much better blah blah blah. Maybe he is better, who knows, we'll see! I like both drivers. And you know the same exact thing goes for Kimi.
Next race well see a true battle for the number 1 place in both teams. Cool.
*edit* It's not true tho, that he "blamed" it on the mishap. He said he had a strange feeling with the car but that it was more like that he couldn't get himself to drive at the right pace (I kno spanish, the translators there are either wrong or looking for a good controversial headline).

I heard about the garage incident and in my opinion, I think it's true, but it depends on how hard it was hit. It had to have hit the car pretty hard to slow it down quickly. What I'm questioning is if they discovered this before qualifying, why didn't they do something about this right then and there?! I'm sure Fernando had a few words to give them after the race. I don't blame him for being upset! The team better fix the problem before Barcelona! I am a huge Fernando Alonso fan, and I'll support him no matter what!

No....actually mclaren send the alonso car to evaluate, because they don't know why the performance of the car was poor that weekend...so they will figure out what was the reason ......in my opinion.....some times the engineers fails founding the best configuration of the car for a each kind of driver.......the same happen to kimi......every pilot have his own style to drive and every track and conditions are different... that's why some times is the different results even if they have the same car in the race.......
best regards...

I don't know for sure if that would cause the problem.. Haven't read about it anywhere. Every driver has a bad race, though, and it could just simply be him having an unusually bad race/day.
