Why do people HAVE TO eat pop corn at the movies?

I don't always buy it at the movie theater, but I do like to eat it at home when watching movies. BTW I want pop corn right now and I am going to make me some and eat it while reading Yahoo! Answers.

Eating popcorn at the movies is a lousy tradition. They should ban ALL eating (including chewing gum) and drinking inside. Also, if anyone's cell fone rings or pager beeps, the device of nuissance will be confiscated and destroyed. All these interferences keep me away from the theater until the very last week of the movie and the theater is almost like a desert.

It is like a movie law or something, the only excusable change is nacho's or pretzels, those been amended into the movie goer law. Now the sneakers are the outlaws, they sneak in illegal treats. The concessions are laced with movie going addictive drugs. You know if you have a low tolerance to the drug if you ever slipped back into another movie without exiting...

because it is cheap to buy and there is a lot of profit in pop corn and it is salty and then you need something to drink more profit. It cost the movie theater .30 cent for a small gag of pop corn that includes the butter the bag and salt and theey charge you 400.00 for it 3.75 profit think about that.Sorry I read your question wrong

It is cheap and easy to make. they also have candy, hotdogs, nachos and what not. though there is a movie theater with a restaurant on the upper level so you can have a good dinner while you watch the movie. the movie theater is in boca raton, florida. but that place also has valet parking, haha what a country.

open your own movie theater and serve whatever you want

it is a tradition and they feel that it's a part of the whole "movie theater experience" that's why they now also sell "movie theater flavored popcorn" at video stores. People feel they have to have it with a movie, that it's part of it, they also play up on this at the theaters by attracting people with the yummy buttery smell they can't resist.

Because it is a tradition, and it is a money maker for the Movie Theater business that needs more funds. Movie theaters are good!

Why do SOME people have to eat hot dogs at a ball game? They are commonly associated together. I don't eat popcorn period let alone at the movies.

I don't like movie popcorn. too greasy and soggy with grease. prefer a place near my work that just uses oil to cook the kernels not put butter on.
