I think he is extremely talented, and lucky to be driving a very good machine. If he's doing the same thing he's doing now in four or five years' time, I might buy the Schumacher comparison then. But not yet.

In response to Gadmack 2000, Michael Schumacher's records will never be 'wiped off the face of the earth'. If you seriously think there's another driver out there who comes remotely close to achieving what Michael did, I'd like to know who it is. Even the much lauded Raikkonen doesn't seem to be able to handle a Ferrari the way Michael did. And I'm sure Alonso considered himself 'serious competition'. My bet would be on Massa, if he could rein in his erratic temperament. As for Hamilton, he has had a good start but things will change as the season progresses. What I find most interesting in F1 at the moment is the apparent demise of Button. A case of 'nose put out of joint' by all the interest in Hamilton, perhaps. But for me the sport has lost something with Michael's retirement. And I don't get all the 'arrogant' comments. He didn't come across like that in any interview I ever saw. And to rise to the top of arguably the most dangerous sport must be seen as an amazing achievement, no matter what you think of Michael's character.

It is too early to make the comparison really. However, is Hamilton keeps up the pace he has now then he could be the next schumacher. Schumi didn;t win any races his rookie year. Michael also won championshups at different teams and across many season which is very very rare in F1. Hamilton may be doing well because the car is far better than the competition but we have to see how it goes. The anouncers and the press sure do seem to be looking for the next great hero of F1 but i am not sure why they look past Alonso so quickly.

Lewis Hamilton is turning out to be a great young driver like most expected. He has yet to win a race, but has been consistent coming in 2nd and 3rd every race he's had. I think people are already getting a little to hyped up about him, seing as how it is his first year and he is still young but he is showing that he can make a name in F1 and that people are starting to think he will be the best.

He is also very young, and still has a very long F1 career ahead of him. I think he could be the next Micheal Shumacher because he is just so talented and young that i think he could be better. Lewis is really making a name for himself and is the icon for F1 racing in england, I hope he really does have a great career in F1.

As Mister Man says, why do you compare LH with that Schumacher? Schumacher is not great...he is a cheat. He should be compared with Senna and not Michael.

Young Lewis will be the next Senna!

Anyway, back to the topic...Lewis Hamilton is a natural driver..he is a contender for WDC this year.

Also, he is a very talented man with a mental build that can take punishments and yet perform its best. He is not afraid of losing...even if he loses, he will gain back the lead without for a moment worrying about the loss.

I have great respect and admiration for Lewis. I hope he prevails this year...but I want Alonso to win the WDC!

Please do not compare Lewis to Schumi. hamilton is still new in the sport. It would take years to prove how great he is.

He is lucky to have a reliable car (for now at least) and be in a championship-contending team. The season has only just begun. It is too early to say if he can be a World Champion but no doubt he is currently in the running.

hamilton is still young and has many more years to go in F1. Right now, he is the most outstanding rookie. But no one knows for sure if he can maintain his form.

Stop disrespecting Schumacher, Senna, Prost, Clark, Fangio and others by putting Hamilton's name with theirs.

It's a disgrace for someone with three races of experience to be called great, legendary, genius, the new Schumacher, Senna incarnate or any other gaga nicknames the British press can come up with out of the hole in their ****!

Hamilton has done remarkably well to finish on the podium in his first three races. There's no denying that takes talent.

It helps him that he's racing for one of the top teams but don't take that away from him. No one has ever had such a good start to their career and he's already matching his teammate Alonso- in other words, he is already matching the reigning World Champion.

If Lewis can continue his current form, he might have a chance of the World Drivers Championship.

Come on.Schumacher could NOT be compared to LH.Neither Senna. In fact,he won't be the next ANYBODY!

When a driver is that good, people compare him to legends and say he might be the next Prost,or Senna or Schumacher. But every driver has his own style. So obviously no one could be the next Schumacher or Senna.

    So the answer is no.
