Do not pick your own mushrooms in the woods if you dont know. I have gone apickn and let me tell you that at times it is hard to tell the yummies from the killme's. Stick to the store bought ones.
But a good book with pics can help and avoid the yellow ones.
but even my fatherinlaw a more seasoned picker got serioulsy ill once from a bad mushroom

senubenu is giving you some good advice. If you don't even know enough to think that all mushrooms may be editable, you don't even want to think about picking any. You need a lot more education about mushrooms than you can get on Yahoo Answers before you start gathering wild mushrooms. Stick with the supermarket mushrooms for now. And this is a very serious answer, but you probably won't like it.
