What happened to our animal instincts?

...and what makes us humans "human"? and are we deep down just animals, but refuse to accept it and therfore trying to "re-invent" ourselves?

In my opinion our animal instinct have been squashed out by society as a whole. We have been trying to distance our selves from 'animals' for a very long time. I think to the point where Agent Smith in the Matrix has a good point, we are like a virus. Move to an area use up all available resources and move on.

In fact we are still 100% animals and completely dominated by our drives. What makes us human is the multiplicity and complexity of conflict among our drives which goes beyond what is typical of other animals. Nietzsche describes this as our unique "wille zur macht" (will to power); the true distinguishing characteristic of our species.

Some "humans" deny this and refuse to accept this. I don't and I'm not the only one.

We still exhibit our animal instincts. no wonder why everday we see more cases of violence... What makes us "human" is the ability of reasoning, thinking and plannig. We are animals, different from the others but animals and to end, we re-invent ourselves because we are able to.

We have refined ourselves so much that we try to disown our animal instincts. We are v diff to animals cos of our 'thinking mind' & the element of choice, our emotions make us seem more compassionate. But not always

Two key words in your question are greed and society. Greed is an antiquality, where someone takes more than they need rather than their fair share. Animals take only what they need, so greed involves a higher process of thought. Society, discuss problems, animals don't discuss they fight for food.

We have language and we can reason logically. Other than that, we're brothers and sisters to other animals.
