Is it possible to shorten a belt without damaging it?

Depends on the belt. Most belts for man can be detach where the buckle meets the belt. Once detached, the belt can be cut shorter. After that is done you can attach the buckle back on.

Another option is to punch some more holes to the belt. This can be done at any shoe repair shop. Don't do it yourself unless you have a leather hole puncher. But this might end up with with a belt that looks awkward on you after you put on b/c the overlap section is too long.

Best advise, sell your belt on eBay and buy another one that fits you better.

You didn't say whether or not you punched the window. Yes you could punch the window without hurting yourself. Doesn't prove anything one way or another. It will not be an adequate argument. The evidence is : the broken window and the eyewitness testimony. You proceed by first discrediting the witness and then offer an alternate explanation of how the window was broken, preferably based on facts relating to the broken window or the accusers motivations. Remember, the accuser must prove the accusation beyond a REASONABLE doubt. You do not have to prove you didn't (though if you could that would be great. Just provide reasonable doubt. For instance, were you someplace else and can you substantiate your whereabouts?

Stop being cheap and go buy another belt. Sometimes it's good to have two or three. You know have some choices some variety!! You deserve it splurge on yourself a little. Loosen up!! If your jeans are form-fitting as you said you probably don't need a belt anyway.

You can put an extra hole with a belt puncher, you can probably get a Wal mart. To shorten it you have to brin it to a professional so that there is no damage. A shoe repairman can help you.
