English English Dictionary as Freeware?

I don't know of any downloadable software, but here are some suggestions for online resources.

I sometimes use the Merriam-Webster dictionary online and also the free dictionary:

Oh, and for simply improving your vocabulary bit by bit - why not try word of the day. You can google "word of the day" and find many places to get it. Some will mail it to you. I sometimes check out Merriam-Websters as they also include a sound recording, so you can hear how the word should be pronounced. Good luck with your endeavor to become (even) better at English - as you do seem to be quite proficient already :-)

Concise Oxford Dictionary.. its a fab e-dic (offline)

go to download.com and in the search section type the language followed by the word ' dictionary' and u have them for free
