Can a 6 year old fly from Pennsylvania to Dallas with a escort from the Airport?
Since 3 month the son from "my friend" live with us.Now his grandmom by marriage will book a flight for him so he can fly back to his mom cause his mom tell us since many weeks she don't have the money to pick him up.Now "my friend" told me her mother in law will give me a call to tell me all the informations to print out the e-ticket.With this e-ticket we have to go to the airport and pay there extra 60$ for the escort and then we can give him up there and this escort take care of him the whole non stop flight until his mom will pick him up at the airport in Dallas.So my question is: How does this realy works with the e-ticket? And is this true that we have to pay there on the day where he fly this 60$ for the escort? I thought you pay it when you book the flight. And is this legal anyway? I am realy thanksfull for every help i get!!!!

Yes, you must pay that money. No airline will accept a 6 year old flying completely alone. You could pay before the day he flies, but is not included in your original ticket. Why would it not be legal? You are handing your child over to be babysat by the airline. Trust me I have to do it, its not fun. And it is not one escort taking care of him, he has to be specifically given from one person to another at each location.

I rode when I was younger on an airline about 11yr. old and they had an attendant escort me in the plane and then off the plane at my destination. I would check with the service that is flying him and see what they can do instead of that extra 60 for the escort.

Yes,a 6 year old can. I have seen 3 year olds fly by themselves,with help from an escort from the airport.
And yes,it is legal....i think.

yes, it's kosher. No, the escort does not take care of him on the flight. Ground staff sign him over to cabin crew, who sign him over to ground staff at other end, who sign him over to pre-designated person picking him up.
