Which names would you choose for characters in a novel?

You don't say when your story takes place, but you may want to keep in mind names unique to whatever period of time you're writing about. Also, consider what the characters are supposed to represent. If either are to meet with tragedy or be tragic figures, a list of martyrs may help. If either or both are heroic, find a list of mythological heroes to choose from. Look up the patron saints of young lovers, there will be several. Get creative with spellings of pertinent events like war, storm, flood, birth, etc.

The best thing you can do is to go buy a couple baby names books & keep them for reference. Also get them for different cultures too because if you're writing, this won't be the first time you have a problem like this.

There are also sites online, like babynames.com (or something like that) & others. Try there. I'm sorry, I don't have access to all my links right now, but I use those when I can't find what I'm looking for in any of my source material.
