The Good Food Guide for 2007 rates St John as the best London restaurant.

The food (and the simplicity of the interior) may not be to everyone's taste but I agree with their choice. Of all the London restaurants I've ever been to, St John stands out as the most special.
And if you're looking for a (reasonably) high-quality club, Fabric is just around the corner:
