the second ring of power......?
i'm reading castaneda's second ring of power and i'm having a hard time staying interested. i've read the previous four books and have loved them: but, this one just sounds like some crazy mexican hippies loafing around in empty houses in mexico. can you give me insight to the deeper themes castaneda is alluding to?

Cut and dried, it's about a bunch of mexicans, doing what they do best, being hippies and loafing around in empty houses in mexico and now in the USA.
I hate to disappoint you, but the above is what is being alluded to.

this book seems to be sort of a comedy, but it links us to a beautiful book, the eagle's gift...there are some reminders of the basic philosophy of Castenada in the 2nd ring, but it's largely character studies I think.
