Need help writing German lyrics--can anyone help?
I'm using a MySpace account to promote my music and want to show my clients I can sing in German, but MySpace stipulates I have to own all the copyright to any audio that I upload. With that in mind, I'm working on a German version of a song I originally wrote in English in 2000. I'm trying to translate "But if we ever fight/We'll reconcile that night." (And not with Babelfish--it handles only prose.)
While I originally wrote, "Doch nach eine Streit so voll/Eine Versöhnung kommen soll," it doesn't quite work ("voll" especially doesn't work; I need a better-fitting adjective that rhymes with "soll"). I've tried other variations of the basic idea, but nothing I can think of seems to work.
Also, are there any good German rhyming dictionaries online? What word-order leeway do professional lyricists have when writing German lyrics?

It has to fit the meter of the original, as well as the rhyming scheme. Also, as I mentioned, online translation utilities such as Babelfish are useless in this regard. Babelfish gives: "Aber wenn wir überhaupt kämpfen, versöhnen wir diese Nacht."
It has to fit the meter of the original, as well as the rhyming scheme, because I'm looking to record the song in German and put it up on my MySpace site. I'm not looking so much for a translation per se because I'm using my dictionaries and my own intermediate command of German--I'm looking for alternate ways to phrase the German version so that it will fit.
Also, as I mentioned, online translation utilities such as Babelfish are useless in this regard. Babelfish gives: "Aber wenn wir überhaupt kämpfen, versöhnen wir diese Nacht."

Nach einem so grossen Streit/sind wir zur Versoehnung bereit.
or, more literal
Kommt es irgendwann zum Streit, sind wir noch in derselben Nacht zur Versoehnung bereit.

Doch auch nach einem Streit,
sind wir zur Versoehnung bald bereit....
or
sind wir durch die Versoehnung wie befreit
Even after a fight,
we will soon be "ready" for a reconciliation
or
we will feel free through our reconciliation...
Best I can think of at the moment... agree with the Ejsenstejn who answered earlier... ;-)
Streit best rhymes with bereit or befreit...

"the vast majority of Rammstein's songs are in German. even if, the band did record English variations of Engel ("Angel"), Du hast ("you've", or "You hate", as hasst is phoneticaly similar, giving the call a double meaning) and Amerika, besides as covers of the songs Stripped (Depeche Mode) and puppy Sematary (The Ramones). to boot, the songs Amerika, Stirb nicht vor mir//do not die earlier I do and Moskau ("Moscow") include no longer in worry-free words German verses, yet to boot English and Russian choruses, respectively; Te quiero puta! ("i love you whore!") is totally in Spanish. "

You might want to try an online translation website such as www.babelfish.altavista.com and write your lyrics in english and translate them into german
