India is above the Equator. It is in the Northern Hemisphere. If you are looking at the Earth with the North Pole at top, Indians are almost sideways - you will be looking down on their heads.

It is us down in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa that are upside down in relation to Americans and Europeans.

If you know the sky well, and you move to the SH from the NH, like I did, you notice that the moon is upside down, as are the constellations.

Orion wears his sword above his belt when viewed from New Zealand.

Technically everyone is straight. The Earths gravity pulls all things towards its centre so the centre of the Earth is 'down ' for everyone and bath water in Australia does not fall out of the bath.

You can arbitrarily pick either the Orientals or the Occidentals to be standing "up". Since all their feet are pointing at the center of the earth, from their own points of view they are all standing "up".

the notion of UP is dependant on the gravity field you're in. Not on where you look earth from.

Therefore, both are standing up. Neither are standing upsidedown.
