Are you asking why most US guys are circumcised? Some people do it for religious reasons. The main reason for most is cultural/traditional reasons. It's what people in the US have been used to for so long that an uncut penis is foreign and strange, and it becomes maligned.
Many will try to tag a medical/health reason but most medical/health reasons don't make sense. An uncut penis is not significantly more prone to infections/STDs, it is not dirty, and it is not hard to keep clean. If the foreskin were truly so bad, then about 80% of the world's male population wouldn't be uncircumcised - very few people would remain uncut. But this isn't the case, so the health reasons for circumcision are overdramatized and greatly exaggerated.
In the end, for most people in the US it's a comfort thing (even if they don't admit it). Is this a good reason? Not really. Is this going to change dramatically soon? Probably not, but the rate has fallen from almost 90% to 60% in the last 3 decades. Is it necessary? Only in severe medical cases, which is a fraction of the 5% of guys who have problems with their uncut *****. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

religions stress the cut penis. medical reasons also necessitate having the foreskin cut.
