Phantom of the Opera (movie ending)?

i actually understand what you are saying, my mom and i had a conversation about these topics the other night. i personally think erik put the rose and ring on christines grave himself before he died, and that he probably died alone. i dont really think that he and meg were together, not that it isnt possible though. i think he lived the rest of his life alone, as christine is the only one he could ever love. had he fallen for meg and moved on, he would have been less likely to set the ring and rose on christines grave. but who really knows, right?

I asume the new movie. They acctually have Rauol looking to Christines grave and see the ring and rose on her own grave, not someone elses. My theory, based on the movie and musical, not the book (As they rearly ever coincide) is that Erik has releized that he can never have her, but will remain in love with her and pay his respects from a distance. I do beleve Meg and Erik did come together in some way, But i beleve it may be different then lovers, as his heart belongs to Christine. It is an ie of mine. I don't recall a pan shot of other graves, but I'll check into that.

erik put the rose and the ring on the grave just before he died, cuz he still loved her. it took guts to give up his true love, but he did it anyhow. i don't think meg giry did, but if she did, that's real interesting! this is my favorite broadway, and the movie was just as good, but don't you think erik was not scary at all? it just look like he had a bad case of sunburn, acne, and windswept hair loss.
