Why did I get a violation?
I got a "advertising violation". I answered a question with "reported as scam"
I'm sure you have seen the question that states "win $5000" The people doing it have signed their name with Yahoo Staff and Yahoo Manager. If you give them your bank info. they will deposit the money within 5-8 days. I wanted to let others know it was a scam because had I not tried to use the contact e-mail, I would of thought it was from Yahoo. The contact e-mail was put in my inbox as undeliverable. I have TRIED to contact Yahoo they have not responded. I contacted them before the violation to ask them if it was legit. The only reply I got was a violation. What did I advertise? Should I have just sat back knowing someone could fall for this scam and do nothing?

Someone probably read your question wrong, or didn't bother to read its entirety, and reported. Yahoo doesn't generally look at questions and answers unless someone reports. I got a violation for gaming for points--and I wasn't. It was one of those questions that said best answer gets 10 points--well, that is understood--the best answer always gets 10 points. But, I was reported by someone--don't know if everyone who answered was.

I guess there is a right way and a wrong way to do things. In theory, someone could vindictively write something like that about a legitimate post, or otherwise post that "I reported you."
To keep it fair I guess, answers have to be answers, and really nothing else at all.
