When someone says "whatever" to almost every yes or no question you ask, what does it mean? Yes or No?

Update:

I know it doesn't mean f**k you. I also know it doesn't mean I don't care. Some of the conversations are very important. (example 19 mo. bad heart)

i think it means yes, but they don't actually want to say "yes".. if they meant no then they'd probably say no..

    either way its really annoying

You have to look at the question being asked. Say for instance if you ask a friend to go shopping and the person remarks, whatever--sounds cool to me then that would be a yes, but if the person remarks well whatever..normally it means no. In my experience, if there is a word put before whatever it is NO..

But of course, if you are referring to the answers on here, then more than likely it means I DON'T CARE..I JUST GOT 2 POINTS...

Quelle(n): From another person annoyed with the whatever answers.

I hate that almost as much as I hate when u say " thank you " and the person says " no problem" whats wrong with Your welcome

I think whatever means I don't care or sure or so, so

    It's an annoying phrase

when someone says whatever, they are either annoyed, and or not able to respond intelligently to the question asked. It does not mean yes or no, It means that "I have no clue one way or the other, and I am confused and upset that I do not"

It means they don't really care about your questions and don't want to be bothered anymore.I say whatever when the same question is repeated and I am tired of dealing with it.

It means that they are extremely rude, and they probably don't really want to be talking to you. I would, give them a taste of their own medicine, and totally ignore them for 24 hours! Good luck.

Usually the answer would be yes but they are either annoyed or emabrassed by the question

I think they are either not paying you any attenion or from my experience it is a way to just get out of saying yes or no. they just don't want to answer the question.

Exactly what the word says WHATEVER you want the answer to be. If you want the answer to be YES then it is YES and if you want it to be NO then it is NO...WHATEVER

It's a way of saying 'No, not really'... I asked my friend once if i could borrow his car stereo until i got mine fixed and his answer was 'Whatever'! He still hasn't got it back!

it depends on what they're asking. of you say "what do you want to do today?" and they say whatever than it's a different meaning then when you say " hey wanna go to the mall tomorrow?" and then they say whatever. see what i mean?
