I'm taking a trip to Germany and I would love to bike along the Rhine River for a few days. Any advice?
I'm trying to start in Koblenz and bike south for 3-5 days to visit old river towns and castle towns, I'm just not sure where to start planning something like that. I have a Eurail pass, so if I get in a jam, or get lazy, lol, I can just hop on, but I wouldn't know where to rent a bike and whether I would have to return it to the same spot or what. Maps? B&B's or Hostels? Anyhelp would be appreciated.

Hi,
In Koblenz you can rent bikes at a two palces, but the prices in my opinion are rather high. With a bit of luck and with e-bay you might get a reasonable priced used bike for about 50 to 70 Euros., and you can keep it til you leave again.
Some nice cities in that area are, Rüdesheim, Bingen, Alzey, Koblenz itself, the Loreley and a lot of old winetowns in that area from small to tiny.
If you are interested in more inf and where to get a bike drop me an e.mail, as this would be to much to write here.

The Rhein-Radweg (Rhine bike path) from Remagen to Wörth is about 205 miles long, whereby the best section is from Boppard to Bingen.
The att. site from the German Tourism Office can give an idea of the various tours and also has links to bike tours.

Why don't you ask a travel agent instead? That'll be more productfull.
