Can someone suggest me best resources to defend the da vinci code book?

What exactly do you want to defend about it?

Defend the Bible. No telling how many people are going to erroneously believe that fictional accounts from the movie are actually in the Bible.

The movie will spread enough fiction without help.

Christianity should be prepared to combat many of the preposterous claims presented in the book.

However, the truth presented on page 232 of The Da Vinci Code cannot be debated. Historians and educators agree that the facts found in this section are undeniably true. Sadly, the truth found in these few paragraphs is much more damaging to the Church than the entire Code book and all the hype surrounding the movie.

The quote is in a fiction novel but is not fiction. A person can argue Church history all day long, but the facts remain. History shows that shortly after the death and resurrection of the Savior, the Roman Empire harshly persecuted the early believers. The more the faith was persecuted, the more it grew. The maltreatment continued until the time of Constantine the Great, who blended the true faith with pagan ideas and evil institutions.

The truth is out there; it just remains to be found by most people. It is sad that millions had to be exposed to the pagan roots of the church through a murder and mystery book by Dan Brown. Brown simply wouldn’t have much of a plot if everyone knew the truth.

You Christians take everything so literally. The Da Vinci code is a work of fiction, and an interesting book, therefore no real meaning should be attached to it. It does not need defending

Ummmmmmm... the book is a work of fiction, defending fiction means making things up and professing them as truth (lying.) In that case your best resource is your own creativity. It is a twist of fiction, given enough facts to make it seem like it's not. All of the so called 'art' clues have been completely debunked so... You should try to find a copy of the gospel of Judas too, it has a much better chance of being real.

the book is a work of fiction. it is a spy drama. there is just enough fact in it to make people believe that the fiction is real. even the author has said similar things.

people read too much into it in my opinion.

however i do feel that Jesus was a man and probally would have taken a wife, why would he not? Is love between a man and a woman not one of gods greatest gifts? sex is not a sin under the sanctimony of marrage.

by the way i am not christian i am actually a pagan priest that believs in the teachings of Jesus.

Actually, DaVinci code, though mainly fiction, does point to some real scripture that was written by the early christians (about Jesus loving Mary Magdalene). So yes, some people may feel uncomfortable about the content of that novel.

Scripture also says that Jesus loved John...and Peter...and Lazarus...and every other living human being that exists or has ever existed. Joh 13:34 "I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. As I have loved you, you should also love one another." That doesn't mean that He was interested in marrying any of us. Mary Magdalene, or anyone of the rest of us.

Jesus Christ is and was God, even when He occupied a human body on Earth. He conferred with His Father to show we human beings how it is supposed to be done. He spoke with the Father, just like we speak to ourselves at times. Although He was in a human body (just as the Holy Spirit can indwell in us today), He was and is God. He had no need to reproduce Himself. He had no need to marry. He was here on Earth for one purpose and one purpose only, to become the Lamb of God, die as a sacrifice for our sin nature and then be resurrected to prove that sin cannot and will not prevail.

Just as has been stated previously here, the story line of the book is purely fictional - based on the fact that Jesus Christ existed and now the Church exists. I exist. And as far as I am concerned, I am real flesh and bone. In my mind and in my reality I don't have to defend my existence. I feel the same way about the Holy Scriptures and the Truth of our Lord. People may not believe in it, but that doesn't stop it from being the Truth of God any more than it stops me from existing this very moment inside of my flesh and blood human body if someone were to tell me they don't believe in me and I don't exist. With only one difference, prehaps. My flesh and blood body will cease to exist. The Truth of the Word of God will not.

Go to the REAL book. Now that's something to have a seminar about. God bless you.

The only resources there are to defend the DaVinci Code book are to read it. You believe or you dont- There IS nothing to defend the book- the Bible can be defended by years of evidence and witnesses.

Maybe just get the New York Times Best Sellers List and photocopy it and note the fiction section in which the book is placed.
