Dating at work a good idea?

Ok, so I have a HUGE crush on a guy from work! I'm wondering if he'll ever ask me out or not. He's around 13 years older than me, still single though. We go out as friends all the time, but I don't know if he wants anything serious with me. We've been going out as friends now for about 7 months, have I waited too long for him to ask me? If he hasn't asked me yet, will he? How long does it take for a guy to realize if he likes a girl or not? Does the fact that he works with me and is older matter?

No, not a good idea to date where you work. What a horrible thing if you break up. You crying all the time, Him crying all the time. Which ever. Work should be a place to put aside emotion and outside stimuli. That's why it's not called Happy joy fun time, or beat myself up, wallow in my sorrows time. Enjoy your co worker at work, and work related activities. Leave it at that.

What is your rush honey, just kick back and enjoy the fact that you have a guy friend. To many women want to start out the way you and your guy friend are starting out, but instead we RUSH things and end up with jerks that we dont even have a friendship with.

Besides, it is not good work ethics to date someone on the job or from your job.Look it up in the code of ethics book.

Yup i just started my new job last wekk was dating a guy from my Hospital happen to be my floor's manager and he was about 15 years older than me....
i left my job becasue all the other nurses and secretaries on the floor wanted him and started to spread rumors about me it became hard just to go to work... ANd ge this No on really knew they just noticed that i was hanging around his office alot... and went fromt there..i wouldn't do it especially if he is like by alot of woman at the job..

He obviously likes you to hang with you that much. Come on to him HARD and see where it goes. But know that if that fails or if you eventually break up you will have to find a new job. I work with all women and am damn sexy so i slept with plenty of chicks but let em know it was just sex. However when one of em "fell for me" it became a problem. She even prevented me from getting my job back, while we wer still sleeping together. Ask your self if he is worth losing your job over.

DO NOT DATE AT WORK!  thats my rule.  i tried it three different times and each one didn't work.  it will cause problems with your job and/or with ur friends, coworkers, and boy or girl friends.  either people will accuse u or he of favoritism, or it will affect ur or his job performance and resulting evaluations and raises, or it could get u and/or him fired.  after these three things happened to me, i resolved to never do it again.  my rule is keep your love life at home and your work life at work.  it saves a lot of stress, trust me.

BUT when you break up, it is the worst experience in the world! One of you will probably have to resign from your job.

been there, done that...not pleasant.  we went out to see a movie...things were hot and heavy...then, I found out, he never left his girlfriend. everyone knew about it...but me.  I felt like a fool.
