If you've reached the stage where you're reading this, it's probably because you read one of my answers or questions and am curious to know more about me. WELL! cogito_ergo.sum (at) hot mail (dotcom) It's settled then. Let's cruise.
Question sur un dialogue?
Pouvez-vous me assister? Ai-je commis des erreurs? Merci beaucoup! :)

7 AntwortenGovernmentvor 1 JahrzehntAny ideas for a catchy name for a GLBTQ youth group?
It's a local group for my area. It's primarily a social thing, to let people, especially emotionally vulnerable people just coming out (or not there yet) to come along and know they are not alone. It's not essentially a support group, but hearing the advice and experience of others can sometimes be just enough.
We don't want to be exclusively GLBTQ either. We want to emphasis youth and the freedom to live life freely. We do, however, want to reach all GLBTQ people, especially questioning and closeted people. We want to encourage people to challenge their beliefs. We need something catchy!
7 AntwortenLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendervor 1 JahrzehntAm I straight-curious?
I am gay, in that I prefer guys to girls.
Now, I think I'm bi - because well let's face, I really do find women attractive. This is just confusing for me, since well I've so far just been "gay" and left it at that.
You see thing is I'm attracted to a female friend of mine. I know she is attracted to me.
Should we give it a go? She knows I am gay/bi.
But she and her family are also very conservative. They'd found out I was gay and then what...
I'm curious - but I don't want to use my friend like a guinea pig in some science project. I respect her far more than that.
Should I discuss this over with her? I'm afraid that if i MAKE it an active issue, I put our friendship at risk.
I'd consider a relationship with her, but I'm certain this "straight" thing is just a phase I'm going through (i'm 16 = naturally attracted to anything)
Any advice? Should I talk to my friend about this? I need to hear the opinion of someone experienced.

I asked this in the Spirituality section 'cause here I know people will read it!
Deadlines are closing in for university here in Australia soon, and I'm wondering which career is best for me.
I want a career which is challenging, unique, rewarding and on-the-edge. Something that saves lives. Both international relations and medicine save lives, albeit in different ways.
I can also imagine myself getting into all sorts of out-there situations either way too, because both are open to plenty of real travel (especially to the third world, which I would love to visit).
Any doctors or diplomats or anyone here really who can tell about their life experience, and how they help those around them?
What makes you get up in the morning?
It is spiritual to me, because it's my life; I want to make a real difference.

Gifted children are more likely to grow up and repay the debt.
17 AntwortenSpecial Educationvor 1 JahrzehntI'm changing. I need advice.?
It's odd that I'd ask this. But... I've always considered myself independent. Very independent. And loud. And out-there. And recently... I've noticed a shift. It's all been with my recent re-interest in religion as well. I'm become more aware of everything. I feel like I'm trapped in my own fish bowl - all of a sudden I see how SMALL things are, or have been. All my old challenges, my old ADVENTURES (i CRAVE adventure) seem so miniscule. It's like i'm to reset to square one. I want to meet peoples of other cultures - I want to get involved in the community. But how? HOW? Apparently I need a blue-card to do anything. Hello I'm 16 and I dont want to rape the kids with cancer!
But I think it's time for a TOTAL change. Any one who's been through this got advice? I need CREATIVITY. Wisdom.
Inspire me and be bold bold - I never want to lost the zest for life.
1 AntwortOther - Society & Culturevor 1 JahrzehntHow do we know that Jesus hasn't already returned?
Who's to say Jesus hasn't already returned, and yet the people!, so blinded were they by their dogmas and vain imaginings, didn't recognise the spiritual truth of His return?
The Jews called Jesus a liar, and a fraud, because behold he is but a man! He is not the mighty king and warrior - he has no flaming chariot nor does he conquer the earth. He is but a man, or seems like one.
So too with God and Jesus' return today? What of the return of the Buddha, or the 10th Avatar? We have seen so much devastation in the 20th century... who's to say God hasn't already renewed His message? Where did the concepts like Feminism and Global Unity come from? Did they just appear and reform our society in the 19th century? Or was it God? But was His mark then left, and himself rejected? It wasn't what people expected so they scoffed and went back to their own beliefs, so blind were they?
Who's to say we aren't blinded by the outward "truth", which confuses us with the inward truth?
18 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 1 JahrzehntIs it so inconceivable that all religions could be One? From One Source?
Why are so many people defensive to the concept that there is but One God? That the divine inspiration of billions of Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Baha'is, Native Americans, the "Absolute Reality", Zoroastrians and Jews could be One God?
God Herself promised she would never leave us without guidance.
Consider - the spiritual teachings (such as the Golden Rule) of ALL God's religions are one and the same. All give praise to God and serve to enhance our spiritual relationship with God. Only their outward social teachings differ, attributing the varying needs of the ages in which they were promulgated. Of course the needs of 2000BC India were different to 600AD Arabia! What difference makes it? God is Omnipotent; there is She cannot do.
Jesus said that in 0AD, for the Jews, he was the way and the truth. Was not Moses also in his time? The flower displaces not the bud, but fulfills. If 10 mirrors were turned towards the same Sun, while different, would they not reflect the same Sun?
13 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 1 JahrzehntHow do you think God feels about homosexuals? Don't love the sin, but love the sinner?
My favorite story in the Bible is about the adulterous woman brought before Jesus. It is my favorite since, to me, it illustrates two important concepts about God's nature: God's unending capacity to love and forgive and that judgment is God's domain, not mine.
If you recall the story, the church elders stated, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what say you?"
Jesus knew the scriptures of which they spoke. It stated: "If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death."
To the surprise of all, Jesus blatantly violates the scripture by stating, "Let anyone among you who is without sin, cast the first stone." One by one they left, beginning with the Elders. Jesus asks of the adulterer, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" And Jesus says, "Neither do I condemn you."
How powerful and beautiful is this statement.
